Dhaka, Feb 6: A Bangladeshi woman named Hosne Ara (45) and a Rohingya named Nabi Hossain (65) were killed as mortar shells fired from Myanmar landed in Bandarban's Naikhongchhari.

Although there were no casualties in this incident, five government primary schools, one high school and one madrassa in the border area have been declared closed due to fear.

BGB gunfight kills two Rohingyas in Naikhongchhari

Dhaka, February 8: Two Rohingyas were killed in a gunfight with the BGB at the Amtali Reju border in Naikhongchhari. The BGB recovered one lakh pieces of yaba, two single-barreled guns and six cartridges from the victims. Naikhyangchhari Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Alamgir Hossain quoted the BGB as saying that the gunfight took place around 1.30 am on Monday (February 8).
