Jamaat-e-Islami using iftar in Ramadan month to gain political support

Bangladesh Live News | @banglalivenews | 29 May 2018, 07:35 am
The holy month of Ramadan has started from Friday. Jamaat-e-Islami continues to target people this Ramadan. To this end, the organization has undertaken an initiative of massive iftar parties throughout the country.

This has been claimed by many responsible leaders of the organization. At the same time, the leaders of the party are thinking of being active in anti-government movements. Jamaat and Shibir are going to make new strides in the country by targeting the strongest places of the country.

{special_block_1}For this reason, the leaders of the BNP-led 20-party alliance were also asked to make a report. Many responsible leaders of Dhaka City Jamaat confirmed this information to Manavkantha. In some districts, the party will activate the leaders and activists through the party iftar.

Meanwhile, a call was made to send donations from the Jamaat-Shibir activists to the Iftar party in different countries of the world. However, the team's responsible sources could not provide any accurate information about this.

On the other hand, the party's program meant that some of the sudden flare-ups, meetings were held in the houses or offices of the professionals, and statements issued from unknown places for news coverage in the media as part of the political activities of present Jamaat-e-Islami. The organization and leadership have been changing since  2011. The picture is changing too. The Jamaat-e-Islami, which has been suspended by the High Court, is going public ahead of the next election.

Several members of the party's central gathering and several responsible leaders of the Dhaka metropolis informed of this decision. Jamaat leaders say that Jamaat has been changing the ongoing activities. The party's policy makers are thinking of opening up political offices closed for seven years.

Their secret rule to hide arrests of the accused will be changed. From now on all the news of arrest or bail will be dished out to the media. Jamaat leaders said that there are instructions from the centre to engage in regular politics and  carry out daily programs. The decisions at the grassroots level will be in accordance with the central committee. {special_block_2}

Jamaat's central working committee member Advocate Ehsanul Mahbub Zubair told Manavkantha, "We hope that the government will feel inclined. Election is one of the important aspects of democracy. We hope that the government will allow little political program or our normal program during the election.”

Jamaat sources say Jamaat will try to open closed offices in the country, including the closed central and metropolitan offices which were shut down since 2011. Even after the arrests of their activists, it will continue.

Recently, a Jamaat leader, who was released from prison, said that the leaders in jail are discussing that their political activities should be scaled up ahead of elections. In particular, since political activism has slowed down since 2015, the leaders want to star it gradually. In this case, the team strategy is yet to be decided.

The sources said, the central leaders, who are out of prison, will decide on the issue. One of the closest leaders of Jamaat's acting Ameer, professor Mujibur Rahman, avoided any responses on opening the office.

He said that they are not allowed to sit peacefully by the government. 5 people have been arrested for an invitation. They are being arrested on charges of trying to sabotage and holding secret meetings. The media will get to know if there are any changes.

Jamaat sources said that the process of determining candidates for the upcoming elections is being run. Already, strong candidates have been finalized in the seventy constituencies. But the names and party's nominations are not yet known.

According to sources, the number of Jamaat activists arrested in the last few months has decreased considerably. Although the number of arrests increased at the beginning of February, the number of regular bailouts is also increasing.

One of the top leaders of the party's associate organization stated that Jamaat's process of selecting candidates for the election is ongoing. Finalizing candidates for three hundred seats is underway.

But ultimately the final number will be determined by coordinating with the coalition. The leader said that Jamaat would also start normal operations when an election environment was created. Selection of the candidates is not the biggest obstacle, but the registration of the Jamaat is a big issue.

While their registration has been suspended by the High Court  their party symbol has been cancelled by the Election Commission. This has left Jamaat worried. Jamaat's central working committee member Ehsanul Mahbub Zubair said, "There is an appeal against the order of the High Court."

No date has been set for the hearing.

Attorney General Advocate Mahbubey Alam told reporters, "There will definitely be a hearing." The case will definitely be heard if the case is filed. Surely the case will be heard. It is on the list; the hearing will be held only when the court gives time.

Meanwhile, Jamaat-Shibir has taken various steps, including offering their prayers for the prisoners and war criminals who were sentenced to death, during Ramadan.
