Prices | Daily Commodity Prime Minister Hasina orders to control the prices of daily necessities during Ramadan
Own Correspondent, Dhaka, 13 January 2024: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has directed the newly appointed ministers to take necessary measures to control the prices of daily necessities during the upcoming holy month of Ramadan so that the people of the country can live comfortably.
She said, "Holy Ramadan is approaching, so take necessary steps, because the prices of daily necessities should not be increased in this month."
The Prime Minister gave this order in an informal meeting with the newly appointed ministers who came to pay their respects to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The meeting was held in Tungipara.
After the meeting, Prime Minister's Secretary Mohammad Salahuddin briefed the reporters. He said it was an informal cabinet meeting.
The secretary said that the prime minister directed the ministers to take steps during Ramzan especially so that the big hoarders cannot stockpile essential commodities to create artificial crisis.
Directing the ministers to conduct regular anti-hoarding operations in this regard, the Prime Minister said, "Keep the prices of essential items under control so that the common man can live comfortably."
The Prime Minister's Secretary said that the Prime Minister for the first time instructed the newly appointed ministers to first get information about the overall affairs of their ministries. Salahuddin said that Sheikh Hasina asked the ministers to exercise utmost caution while undertaking any project beneficial to the country and people.
