Pakistan: Imran leads Azadi March
Anti-government cleric Tahirul Qadri is leading another protest march to Islamabad.
Both the leaders want Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to resign.
Pakistan is celebrating its Independence Day on Thursday.
Khan earlier in the day tweeted: "Wishing all Pakistanis a happy Independence Day. Today we embark on our Azadi March to bring true democracy & Naya Pakistan."
"PTI Tsunami takes over Lahore. Incredibly charged crowd. Have promised them Naya Pakistan. Nothing can stop us," he later said.
"Sharifs should realise this is end of their monarchy.Tsunami on the Mall & will go all the way 2 Islamabad InshaAllah," Khan posted on his Twitter homepage.
The PTI has got the permission to hold a rally in Islamabad.
" Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has given permission to the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) to hold a rally in Islamabad. The PTI, however, will be allowed to hold the rally near Islamabad\'s Serena Hotel and not at D-Chowk," Dawn News reported.
