Islamabad, Feb 7 : The Pakistani court, which is hearing the treason case of Pervez Musharraf, on Friday summoned the country's former President to appear before it on Feb 18, reports said.

The court said a non-bailable warrant for the former President would be issued in case he failed to appear before the court.

Musharraf skipped the hearing of the case on Friday.

The court, however, accepted the petition seeking his exemption from appearing before it during the proceedings on Friday.

Musharraf’s counsel Anwar Mansoor said he will appear before the court on Feb 18.

"Pervez Musharraf will appear before the court after being discharged from the hospital," Anwar was quoted as saying to the court by Geo News.

Musharraf was hospitalised after he suffered \'heart problem\' in January.

Musharraf returned to Pakistan in March last year after years of self-exile in the UK.

Musharraf rose to power in Pakistan in a coup in 1999. He had stepped down from the power in 2008 and was threatened with impeachment, which resulted in his self-exile.
