Lightning kills 16 of a marriage party in Shibganj

Dhaka, August 4: At least 16 people attending a marriage party were killed in a lightning strike at a tin house on the banks of the Padma River at Shibganj in Chapainawabganj. At that time 14 people were injured. The incident took place at around 12 noon on Wednesday (August 4) at Alinagar Ghat in Char Panka Union area of the upazila.

Lightning strikes killed 177 people across the country in four months

Dhaka, June 12: In the four months from March to June this year, 177 people have been killed in lightning strikes across the country. At least 47 people were burnt at the same time.
