Own Correspondent, Dhaka, July 23: State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid mentioned that the ongoing crisis with electricity is temporary. The state minister assured that this problem will be resolved soon as 4,000 MW electricity will be added to the national grid in a few months.

CNG stations to remain non-operational for five hours everyday

Dhaka, March 1: The government has ordered all CNG stations across the country to remain non-operational for five hours every day. It will be closed from 6:00 pm to 11:00 pm. Action will be taken if the instructions are disobeyed.

Bill passed to run ‘Quick Rental’ for another 5 years

Dhaka, September 16: The bill has been passed in the parliament to run the 'quick rental' power plant for another 5 years. In order to meet the power shortage on an emergency basis, the Quick Enhancement of Electricity and Energy Supply (Special Provision) Act, 2021 was introduced on Wednesday (September 15). A day later, on Thursday (September 16), State Minister for Power Nasrul Hamid proposed to pass the bill, which was passed.

CNG stations will be closed for 4 hours every day from Sunday

Dhaka, September 16: The CNG filling stations will be closed for a total of four hours every day from next Sunday (September 19) from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm, to increase gas supply to the power plants. This decision will remain in effect until further notice. Public Relations Officer (Deputy Chief Information Officer) of the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Mir Mohammad Aslam Uddin said this on Wednesday (September 15) night.

CNG filling stations to remain closed for six hours every day from September 15

Dhaka, September 14: The CNG filling station will be closed for six hours daily from 5:00 pm to 11:00 pm to increase gas supply to the power plant.

Power generation has increased to 13,793 MW under Sheikh Hasina's leadership

Dhaka, July 26: In the light of the growing power demand in the country, as the established production capacity has increased over time, so has the maximum production. The highest generation in the fiscal year 1970-71 was 225 MW which has increased to 13,793 MW as on July 18, 2021.

Power generation capacity is 24,421 MW: Minister

Dhaka, January 19: State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid said the country's current power generation capacity is 24,421 MW. Of these, grid-based generation capacity including imports is 21,239 MW, captive 2800 MW and renewable energy 382 MW. He was responding to a question from Member of Parliament Ali Azam (Bhola-2) in Parliament on Tuesday (January 19).
