Dhaka, March 7: Blackout will be observed across the country for one minute on March 25 to mark Genocide Day.

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan gave this information to reporters in the Ministry's meeting room at the Secretariat on Monday (March 6). Earlier, he presided over the law and order meeting on the occasion of the Genocide Day on March 25, Independence Day and National Day on March 26.

The Home Minister said that on the occasion of Genocide Day on March 25, all lights will be switched off for one minute. There will be blackout across Bangladesh from 10:30 PM to 10:31 PM. He also said that His Excellency the President and the Prime Minister will visit Savar on March 26. Foreign diplomats will also go there. Security forces have been advised to ensure that security measures are in place on their way. Where necessary, improving the road system, increasing the activities of intelligence agencies; These have been discussed.

Note that March 25 is the time of a brutal massacre in history. On March 11, 2017, the fourteenth session of the National Assembly decided to observe this day as Genocide Day. Various political parties, organizations, social, cultural and professional organizations will observe the day through various programs. On the occasion of the day, President Md. Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina gave separate messages.
