11 people die with Covid-19, 470 new patients identified

Dhaka, February 26: In the last 24 hours, 11 more people have died due to coronavirus infection. Among them are six men and five women.

The death toll from the epidemic rose to 8,395.

Meanwhile, 470 new patients have been identified. As a result, the total number of identified patients in the country has increased to 5,45,424.

This information was given in a press release signed by Additional Director General (Administration) of the Department of Health Prof. Dr. Nasima Sultana on Friday (February 26).

It said 15,345 samples were collected and 15,032 samples were tested in 214 laboratories across the country in the last 24 hours. Thus, the total number of sample tests stood at 40,18,268.

At this time, 470 new patients have been identified. The total number of identified patients in the country stood at 5,45,424.

Meanwhile, 743 people, including asymptomatic patients, have recovered in the last 24 hours at various hospitals and homes in the country, including the capital. So far, a total of 4,95,498 people have recovered.

In the last 24 hours, the sample test rate was 3.13 percent. The overall detection rate is 13.57 percent, the recovery rate is 90.85 percent and the mortality rate is 1.54 percent.

The first coronavirus patient was identified in the country on March 8 last year and the first corona patient died on March 18.

Of the total deaths, 6,349 are males (75.63 percent) and 2,046 are females (24.37 percent).
