Teacher Recruitment 2 lakh 38 thousand primary teachers recruited in last 12 years
Dhaka, March 4: In the last 12 years, 2 lakh 38 thousand 579 teachers have been appointed in primary schools. State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Rumana Ali said this in response to M Abdul Latif's written question during the question and answer session of the National Parliament on Sunday. Speaker Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury presided over the session.
He said that in the last one year, 2 lakh 38 thousand 579 teachers including 5,205 head teachers and 2 lakh 33 thousand 374 assistant teachers have been appointed for primary schools. During this period, the jobs of 1 lakh 4 thousand 875 private and registered primary school teachers have been officialized.
In response to another question of Noakhali-3 Constituency MP Md. Mamunur Rashid Kiran, the State Minister said that no private primary school registration was given after the Prime Minister announced the nationalization of private primary schools in 2013. Currently Private Primary School Registration Policy-2023 has been formulated. In the light of the policy, the process of bringing all private primary schools under registration is ongoing. However, 31 private primary schools in Noakhali district have been nationalized in the last 14 years.
