26 detained in Jhenaidah while crossing the border illegally

They were arrested from two borders of Maheshpur upazila in separate raids early on Saturday (October 8).

58 BGB Assistant Director Mohammad Saiful Islam said that based on secret information, BGB arrested a total of 13 people including four men, five women and four children in front of the primary school of Sonaidanga village in Maheshpur. All of them were traveling from Bangladesh to India without passports.

On the other hand, a total of 13 people, including four men, six women and three children, were arrested from Momintala of Ruli village in the upazila around 4 am. They also tried to enter India illegally.

He further said that the detainees are residents of Khulna, Jhenaidah, Narail, Chuadanga, Cox's Bazar, Bagerhat and Jessore districts. A case has been filed against those arrested for attempting to cross the border illegally at Maheshpur police station.
