38 die with Covid-19 within 24 hours

In the last 24 hours, 38 more people have died due to coronavirus in the country. The death toll from the virus stands at 11,972. At this time 1,514 people have been identified as newly infected with corona. The total number of infected patients increased to 7,75,027

According to a regular press release issued by the Department of Health on Monday (May 10th), 2,115 people have been exempted from tax in the last 24 hours. So far, a total of 7,12,277 people have recovered.

16,963 samples were collected in 24 hours. 16,848 were tested. The detection rate is 8.99 percent as compared to the sample test. So far, a total of 56,47,742 samples have been tested in the country. Compared to the total test, the detection rate is 13.72 percent.

Of the 36 people who died in the last 24 hours, 15 were from Dhaka division. Besides, 11 people died in Chittagong, 6 in Rajshahi, 2 in Barisal, 3 in Sylhet and 1 in Rangpur.

Of those killed in 24 hours, 25 were men and 13 were women. Two of them died at home and the rest at the hospital.

Of the 11,972 deaths so far from the virus, 8,678 are males and 3,294 are females.
