Dhaka, July 9: Six people, including ARSA Commander Najibullah, were killed in the firing between Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA) and Arakan Solidarity Organization (RSO) at the Rohingya camp in Ukhia, Cox's Bazar. Several unconfirmed sources claim that the members of ARSA were killed while attacking the sleeping RSO members staying in the camp.

The shooting took place in the area adjacent to Balukhali Rohingya Camp-8 East, Block-B-17-18 around 6 am on Friday. Three died at the scene and two at the hospital. The body of another person was found on the slope of the hill. This was stated by the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Ukhia Police Station, Sheikh Mohammad Ali.

Those who were killed in the firing are Md. Nazimullah, resident of Arsa Commander Camp-10, Nurul Amin (24) of Arsa Commander Camp-13, Anwar Hossain (24) and Mohammad Hamim (16) resident of Arsa Member Camp-8 West. The other was not identified. Besides, the dead body of a person named Sana Ullah (23) was recovered from the hill slope of Camp No. 11 area in the evening. The Rohingya claimed that he was also one of the injured in the morning firing.

8 APBN Captain (Additional DIG) Amir Zafar, who is in charge of the security of the camp, said that the Rohingya camp miscreants went to the spot after receiving information about the firing between Arsa and RSO. Three bodies were found. Two others died after the injured were taken to hospital. An operation is underway to arrest those involved in the incident. Security has been beefed up in the camp. The patrol is also increased.

According to sources, a delegation led by International Criminal Court (ICC) Chief Counsel Karim Asad Ahmad Khan visited the camp to investigate the atrocities committed against the Rohingya community in Myanmar. A day after the ICC team's departure, the shooting has raised many questions.

A Rohingya Sub Majhi (leader) named Md. Ebadullah (27) was stabbed to death while calling the victims for a meeting with ICC Chief Counsel Karim Asad Ahmad on Thursday.

Several organizations have been formed to work on Rohingya's demands and rights. Among these, the RSO deals with the issue and rights of Rohingya return to Myanmar. Arsa is doing criminal activities in the camp. Terrorists under the control of ARSA are working to obstruct the repatriation of the Rohingya and the International Court of Justice, fueled by the Myanmar government. They are targeting Rohingyas who are interested in repatriation, killing and intimidating them.
