712 new Dengue cases registered in Bangladesh

Dhaka, 9 October 2022: The number of dengue cases is constantly increasing in Bangladesh.

712 people were admitted to various hospitals in the country from 8 am on Friday to 8 am on Saturday, which is the highest in a single day this year. On October 6, the highest number of dengue cases in the country was 637. With this, a total of 2 thousand 416 dengue patients are admitted in hospitals across the country. However, three deaths due to dengue have been reported during this time.

Saturday (October 8) in charge of Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Department of Health Dr. Md. This information has been informed in the dengue report signed by Zahidul Islam. It is said that 499 of the 712 people who were admitted to the hospital due to dengue infection in 24 hours from Friday 8 am to Saturday 8 am are residents of Dhaka and 213 outside Dhaka.

According to the information of the Department of Health, a total of 20 thousand 235 people were admitted to the hospital due to dengue from January 1 to October 8 this year. Out of this, 17 thousand 752 people have recovered and got discharge from the hospital.

Three people have died due to dengue in the last 24 hours. A total of 67 people have died of dengue since January 1. The first death due to dengue was reported on June 21 this year.

During the corona epidemic in 2020, dengue infection was not seen much, but in 2021, 28 thousand 429 people were infected with dengue fever across the country. In the same year, 105 people died of dengue nationwide.
