After King Charles III's coronation, armed forces return home

Dhaka, May 9: A military contingent of 10 members of Bangladesh Army, Navy and Air Force participated in the parade on the occasion of the coronation ceremony of King Charles III at London's Westminster Abbey at the invitation of the United Kingdom Government. After the ceremony, the military contingent of the armed forces returned home on Monday. This information was given in the notification sent by the Directorate of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Monday.

According to ISPR, the official coronation of King Charles III took place in London's Westminster Abbey on May 6. About 2,200 invited guests including about 100 heads of state and government of the world attended the coronation ceremony. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina attended the program as an invited guest. To commemorate this historic moment, in addition to the United Kingdom Armed Forces, around 400 members of the armed forces from 40 countries participated in the parade.

A smart contingent of Bangladesh Armed Forces consisting of Army, Navy and Air Force personnel led by Lt. Col. Sadat Mohammad Hasan of the Bangladesh Army took part in the coronation parade. Through this participation, it is expected that the mutual relations between Bangladesh and the United Kingdom will be more far-reaching and cordial.
