Dhaka, Oct 21: The American national flag has been kept at half-mast at the US Embassy in Dhaka today. Before this, this information was shared in a press note sent by Brian Schiller, the spokesperson of the US Embassy in Dhaka on Friday night.

It said that the flag of the embassy will be kept at half-mast on Saturday on the instructions of Ambassador Peter Haas. The United States mourns the death of every innocent person. US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said, "We mourn the loss of civilians of any nation and religion in conflict."

Meanwhile, Bangladesh condemned Israel's attack and said it would stand by Palestine. A day of national mourning was declared on Saturday. Prayers were offered in all religious places of worship on Friday.

Today, on Saturday, the national flag is flown at half-mast in all government, semi-government and autonomous institutions and educational institutions and in all government and private buildings and Bangladesh missions abroad.

Bangladesh is observing a one-day national mourning for the death of Palestinian citizens due to the barbaric attack by the occupying Israeli forces. A notification was issued by the Cabinet Division on Thursday declaring state mourning on Saturday (October 21).

It said that state mourning will be observed for the deaths of Palestinian citizens in recent barbaric attacks by the Israeli occupation forces in Gaza and other parts of Palestine. On the occasion of national mourning, special prayers were held in all mosques of Bangladesh for the peace of the souls of the dead and the well-being of the injured. Special prayers are organized in other religious institutions.
