Anti-Modi protests in Motijheel , 'child speaker' detained

Dhaka, March 25: Protests under the banner of Youth Rights Council took place at Motijheel Shaplachattar in the capital in protest of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Bangladesh. Employees of several organizations including youth and student rights took part in it. The police stopped the procession to protesters clashed with police. Police fired tear gas and sound grenades to disperse them. The protesters also threw bricks at the police.

The clash took place at 12 noon on Thursday (March 25) at Motijheel Shaplachattar. Several people from both sides were injured in the clash which lasted for about 30 minutes. After the incident, police arrested 11 people including child speaker Rafiqul Islam Madani from Motijheel area and took them away in a prison van.

Private university student rights and student protests, clashes with police and golden as the leader tanajida two were injured. They are currently undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

Motijheel police department, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Wake News aisles Kumar said, "When sapalacatbara activists brought out a procession in Motijheel police tried to stop them. At that time they started attacking the police. Several of our policemen were injured, one of them in critical condition. Now the situation is under our control. We will talk to senior officials and take necessary action.

Incidentally, Rafiqul Islam, who was arrested from today's protest, studied at Jamia Madania Baridhara Madrasa in the capital. Because of his small body size, everyone called him a child speaker and this is how he came to be known. Rafiqul Islam, director of Sawtul Hera Madrasa in Bilashpur, West Netrokona district, is said to be associated with Ulamaye Islam and Rabetatul Waizin in the 20-party alliance.
