APBn-Police conduct raids, arrest 41 Rohingyas

Dhaka, October 29: APBn and district police have arrested 41 people on various charges including murder and drug cases in the Rohingya camp of Cox's Bazar. They were arrested during the raid on Friday (October 28). Recently, this special operation is being carried out under the name of 'Operation Root Out' to keep the camp safe in the wake of several murders, including those of Majhi, in the Rohingya camp.

8 APBn Police Assistant Superintendent of Police Md Farooq Ahmed confirmed the matter in a press release on Saturday (October 28).

According to the notification, in view of the recent killings and law and order situation in the Rohingya camp area, a special operation was conducted on Friday night in camp number 13, 17, 18, 19 and 20 under the leadership of Additional DIG Md. Amir Zafar, 8 APBn commander. To ensure that no miscreant can escape during the operation inside the camp area, sufficient number of officers-force of the District Police is deployed at the border of the camp.

41 criminals were arrested in the operation. Among them, six accused of various murder cases in Rohingya camp, three were arrested with drugs. There are four accused in other cases. The remaining 28 are accused of various crimes. They were sentenced under the mobile court.

Apart from 8 APBn, 14 and 16 APBn police and district police who are in charge of security in the Rohingya camp participated in the operation.

This official of APBN said that the special operation of 8 APBn will continue in the camp area to eliminate terrorism from the Rohingya camp.
