Bangladesh-Argentina Argentine President thanks Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina
Dhaka, December 23: Argentine President Alberto Fernandez thanked Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in response to Hasina's congratulations on Argentina's national football team's victory in FIFA World Cup-2022. Fernandez informed Sheikh Hasina that his country will reopen its diplomatic mission in Dhaka next year.
In a letter written to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Argentine President Fernandez said, "We have observed very closely the support and celebration of the people of friendly Bangladesh after winning the FIFA World Cup, which surprised the people of Argentina and the President of the country."
Alberto Fernandez said, "Sports is a powerful and effective means of bonding between people," Assistant Press Secretary to Prime Minister ABM Sarwar-e-Alam said on Thursday.
Alberto Fernandez also announced the opening of an Argentine embassy in Dhaka in 2023 to mark 50 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries. Argentine President Alberto Fernandez said he hoped the opening of the embassy by 2023 would strengthen relations between the peoples of the two countries.
