Army donates Tk 10 crore to Prime Minister's relief fund

Own Correspondent, Dhaka, July 14: Chief of Army Staff General SM Shafiuddin Ahmed handed over a cheque of Tk 10 crore to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for flood victims in northern areas including Sylhet. This information was informed in a press release of the Directorate of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The Army Chief handed over the cheque to the Prime Minister at the Prime Minister's Office on Wednesday (July 13) to help the people affected by the devastating floods in the northern part of the country, including Sylhet.

The statement said that all the members of the Bangladesh Army were directly involved in a grand initiative along with the active role of the Army members at the field level in the affected areas by depositing the same amount of their one day salary in the Prime Minister's Relief and Welfare Fund.
