Dhaka, May 4: Information Minister and Joint General Secretary of Awami League Dr. Hashan Mahmud said, "The way in which terrorists killed people by throwing petrol bombs during the siege in the name of political demands on the orders of BNP-Jamaat leaders in Bangladesh in 2013-14-15 is not only in the history of the country, it has not occurred anywhere in contemporary political history of the world."

He said, "Not only those who threw petrol bombs should be prosecuted, but those who ordered and financed them should also be prosecuted. And if this crime is not prosecuted, more such crimes will happen."

The minister said these things in the speech of the chief guest at the symbolic hunger strike program to demand justice for the BNP-Jamaat arsonists and orderlies who violated human rights, organized by the arsonist protest organization at Dhaka Medical College area on Thursday afternoon.

The minister said, "BNP-Jamaat terrorists hurled petrol bombs on helpless people, school-going boys and girls, bus passengers, sleeping drivers of trucks stopped due to blockade and set them on fire in 2013-14-15."

Hasan Mahmud said, "The petrol bomb throwers are not the only criminals, the order came from London across the Seven Seas and Thirteen Rivers. The BNP leaders including Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Gayeshwar Roy, Mirza Abbas are the leaders of this attack. Under their orders, this petrol bomb attack was conducted with their funding. Today, the victims of the petrol bomb attack have brought the demand for justice. Mirza Fakhrul talks big, but he cannot escape the responsibility of the crime committed under the leadership of his party. All criminals must be brought to justice."

He said, "People who are victims of arson are citizens and owners of this country. They do not do politics, they do not understand politics and they did not go to any political program, they went out in daily work to earn a living. This kind of despicable anti-humanity incident has not happened anywhere in the world."

Expressing solidarity with the victims of the petrol bomb attack and their families, the minister said, "This case needs to be resolved quickly. So I think these cases need to be tried through a speedy tribunal and the perpetrators and financiers of the arson attack should also be brought to justice."

Awami League joint general secretary Dr. Hasan Mahmud broke the hunger strike by giving water to the relatives of the victims of the petrol bomb that came to the program.
