Autorickshaw driver among three killed in Chittagong road accident

Dhaka, February 5: Three people, including the driver of a CNG autorickshaw, were killed when a sand truck hit them in Rahattarpul area of Bakalia police station in Chittagong city. At least four others were injured in the incident.

The accident happened in front of the Rahattarpool Blooming Park Community Center at midnight on Thursday (February 4).

The deceased were identified as CNG autorickshaw driver Mohammad Ahid Mia, 55, Mohammad Shahid, 62, and Mohammad Abdul Mannan, 40.

Chittagong Medical College (CMC) Hospital police outpost in-charge Mohammad Zahirul Haque Bhuiyan confirmed the matter to Jago News.

He said seven people were seriously injured when a sand-carrying dumper truck hit a Mahindra CNG autorickshaw in front of Rahattarpool Blooming Park Community Center.

After being brought to the hospital, the doctor on duty declared the three dead. Four people injured in the accident are undergoing treatment in different wards of the hospital.
