Awami League takes out New Year procession

Dhaka Metropolitan South Awami League organized this under the slogan "May Boishakh be a bridge to new life and non-communalism". The party's general secretary Obaidul Quader, members of the presidium Abdur Razzak, Kamrul Islam, joint general secretary AFM Bahauddin Nashim, office secretary barrister Biplab Barua and other central leaders participated in it.

Besides, a large number of leaders and activists of Dhaka Metropolitan South Awami League participated in the rally and procession. Earlier, a discussion meeting was held under the chairmanship of Nurul Amin Ruhul, Acting President of Dhaka Metropolitan South Awami League.

Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman commented that people spontaneously participated in the protest against the fear surrounding the Mars procession. He said these things while talking to reporters after the March procession.

Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman said, Mangal Shobhayatra is the cultural heritage of Bengal. Now it belongs to World Memory of Heritage. As a result, this cultural heritage is an extraordinary asset of the international community, all peoples of the world. Its maintenance, preservation and dissemination is now the collective responsibility of all.

The DU Vice-Chancellor further said that Mangal Shobhayatra is a reflection of an inclusive vision and philosophy. It conveys the message of building a non-sectarian and humane Bangladesh. All people spontaneously participated in the protest that was panic. It is a protest against all forms of extremism, communalism.
