Monir at one stage prepared for jihad. He came to the country on February 26 without informing any of his family as part of it. He planned to attack the police and the judge. He also posted on Facebook about killing them and making the country independent.

Mentioning that Monir used to inspire others besides preparing for jihad, the police official said that he was inspired by Gazwatul Hind to give different status. In Bahrain, he opened an ID with Pakistani identity through an acquaintance with a Pakistani colleague. With that, Monir used to post various anti-government and provocative posts. He had the idea that since he was living abroad, no one would be able to catch him.
