Own Correspondent, Dhaka, 24 August 2023: A draft commission has been prepared to identify the perpetrators of the assassination of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his family members. Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Huq said that it will soon be sent to the Prime Minister for approval. He said that conspirators would be identified by forming a high-powered commission so that future generations would know about it.

The law minister said this in a discussion meeting at Sirdap Auditorium in the capital on Thursday (August 24). He said that Ziaur Rahman was involved in the assassination of Bangabandhu. Therefore, he did not take the initiative to prosecute while in power, instead he stopped the prosecution of the murderers with the Indemnity Ordinance. After the killing of Bangabandhu on August 15, Khandkar Mushtaq and Zia have stopped the trial of the killers with the Indemnity Ordinance, the law minister said, such laws are rare in the world.

Anisul Huq said that there were 19 attempts to kill Sheikh Hasina. After the attack on August 21, Khaleda said that the grenade came out of Hasina's vanity bag. Due to the 21-year delay in the murder of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib and his family members, bringing all the murderers to death is a difficult task. Even after such a heinous murder, seven judges were embarrassed to hear the case for no reason.

He also said that when Maudood Ahmad was the law minister, I called for the appointment of two additional judges to start hearing the Bangabandhu murder case. But he didn't. Now if the people of Bangladesh are the judge by analyzing the activities of BNP, it will be seen in the analysis of the situation of Bangabandhu's murder that Ziaur Rahman was involved in Bangabandhu's murder. For this reason, he did not take the initiative to prosecute it while in power. Instead, the Indemnity Ordinance stopped the prosecution of the killers. He said that Bangabandhu's murder has been tried, but those involved in the conspiracy behind it have not been identified.
