Dhaka, April 6: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today said that the speech of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman is an invaluable resource for the present and future generations. She said this while unveiling two books on Bangabandhu and his speeches after attending the working advisory committee meeting of the Parliament on the eve of the special session that started on Thursday on the occasion of the 50th anniversary (Golden Jubilee) of the National Assembly.

Sheikh Hasina said, "He (Bangabandhu) gave direction in his speech on how Bangladesh will function. So, it is an invaluable resource for us."

One of the two books is a collection of Bangabandhu's speeches in Parliament and the other is a collection of speeches by legislators in a special session of Parliament called on the occasion of 'Mujib Barsha'.

Referring to Bangabandhu's book of speeches, the Prime Minister said, it is very important for Members of Parliament (MPs), people and future generations to know Bangladesh and its people.

She also said, "In 50 years, our generation or the next generation, generation after generation will know the speech and through this they will have the opportunity to understand Bangladesh, the condition of the people, their socio-economic development, everything."

The Prime Minister praised the compilation of the speeches of the members of Parliament in the special session of the Parliament and said, "It is a matter of great pride for us." In this regard, she thanked the speaker, parliament members and all concerned.

Regarding the constitution, Sheikh Hasina said that the constitution of Bangladesh made by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman is the greatest constitution in the world because it has ensured the fundamental rights of people of all walks of life. She also said that immediately after independence, the Father of the Nation of Bangladesh formed the Constituent Assembly with members of the National Assembly and Provincial Assembly elected by the people of Bangladesh.

The Chief Minister said that in just nine months, Bangabandhu had gifted the Bengali nation with a constitution - a rare event in history. She said, "It is probably considered as one of the best constitutions in the entire world. Because, through it, the basic rights of the poor, needy, deprived and exploited people are preserved."
