Dhaka, June 20, 2021: Four people, including a child, were killed in a head-on collision between a truck and a microbus in Narsingdi. 6 more people were injured. The condition of two of them is critical.

The accident took place at around 12pm on Saturday at Sakura junction of Panchdona-Ghorashal-Tongi road in Narsingdi. Narsingdi Additional Superintendent of Police Enamul Haque Sagar is confirming the information.

The deceased were identified as Ruby Akhter, 33, wife of Abdur Rashid of Jirabo area of ​​Ashulia in Savar district, his daughter Raima Khan, 5, and his nephew Sadeq Khan, 6, and Qadir Miah's wife Samsunnahar, 60.

The injured were identified as Razia, 40, Rashid Miah, 40, son of Yusuf Miah, Kazim Uddin, 42, son of Zaher Ali, Saifa, 12, daughter of Saiful Islam, Sharmin, 40, wife of Harun Miah, Israt Jahan, 6, his daughter and unidentified persons. (40) One.

Police and the injured said that Abdur Rashid and his family members went to visit the shrine in Sylhet from Jirabo area of ​​Ashulia in Savar in a Hayes microbus on Saturday morning. They visited the shrines of Shahjalal and Shahparan and went to Jaflong. From there he was returning home to Ashulia.

They said the microbus collided head-on with a speeding truck at the Sakura junction in Narsingdi on the Panchdona-Ghorashal-Tongi road. Ruby Akhter and her daughter Raima died on the spot. At that time, the microbus twisted and fell on the side of the road. Later, the fire service and local people came forward and rescued the injured and took them to Sadar Hospital. Four of them were sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital with serious injuries. But on the way to Dhaka, Qadir Miah's wife Samsunnahar died.

Meanwhile, traffic on Panchdona-Ghorashal-Tongi road was stopped after the accident. Later, the police came to the spot and removed the vehicles from the road and made the traffic normal.
