Bangladesh air force officials save four students

Dhaka, December 20, 2020: Bangladesh Air Force has rescued four students trapped in a remote hill in Himchhari area of Cox's Bazar.

They were rescued by an Air Force AW-139 search and rescue helicopter on Saturday (December 19) and brought to Cox's Bazar Airport. This information was given in a press release of the Inter-Services Public Relations Directorate.

The Bangladesh Air Force has always provided emergency assistance in dealing with any national crisis. The Bangladesh Air Force has continued to provide emergency air transport and medical evacuation services with professionalism, ensuring its commitment to assist the civilian administration under ‘In Aid to Civil Power’. Following this, the search and rescue mission was conducted under the guidance of Air Chief Marshal Masihuzzaman Serniabat (BBP, OSP, NDU, PSC).

On Saturday (December 19) morning, four students lost their way in the remote hills of Darianagar in the Himchhari area of ​​Cox's Bazar. They then called 999 (National Emergency Service).

Later, Bangladesh Air Force Base Zahurul Haque, Chittagong formed a search and rescue team to assist the civilian administration under 'In Aided to Civil Power' and at 4:38 pm an Air Force AW-139 search and rescue helicopter flew.

The helicopter reached Cox's Bazar at 5:06 pm and at 5:24 pm, the Air Force rescued four students trapped in a remote mountain through a search and rescue team with the help of the Air Force base and brought them to Cox's Bazar Airport.
