The minister said, analyzing the latest data on the dengue situation in other countries including Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines and India in Asia, it has been found that the number of dengue patients in Bangladesh is much less compared to these countries.

Highlighting the latest data from January to June this year, Md Tajul Islam said that 13,000 people in Singapore, 18,884 in Malaysia, 45,387 in Indonesia, 5,196 in Thailand, 51,622 in the Philippines and 10,172 in India are infected with dengue. has been And in Bangladesh, 2,305 patients were reported from January to July 26 this year. It has been a collective effort.

The minister said that the mayors of the two city corporations have undertaken all kinds of programs to control Aedes mosquitoes. Allotment and manpower from the Ministry have been given as and when requested. The concerned ministries and departments have fulfilled their respective responsibilities. Regarding the establishment of the planned market in Dhaka, the local government minister said, initiatives are being taken to establish wholesale markets around Dhaka to easily bring vegetables, fish and other products to Dhaka from all over the country. As Dhaka is very densely populated, unplanned establishment of wholesale and retail markets is creating various problems including traffic congestion. For this reason, we have started discussions with the two mayors of Dhaka on how to set up wholesale and retail markets at convenient or specific places.
