Bangladesh celebrates independence day

Dhaka, March 26, 2022: Great Independence and National Day was celebrated across the country including the capital Dhaka on Saturday with deep homage to the memory of the martyrs who gave their lives in the great war of liberation.

Programs were taken at the national level on the occasion of the great Independence and National Day celebrations with due dignity. The day began with thirty-one rounds of artillery fire in the capital on Saturday morning.

On the occasion of the great Independence Day, the President paid his respects at the National Memorial in Savar on Saturday morning. Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Speaker after the President and Prime Minister. Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury and Chief Justice Hasan Fayez Siddiqui paid tribute to the heroic martyrs by laying wreaths.

The main gate of the National Memorial was opened to the public immediately after the completion of the state formalities. With the opening of the main gate of the national memorial, the common people flock to the memorial to pay their respects to the best children of the nation. Meanwhile, leaders of Jatiya Party, BNP, President Mohammad Shah Alam and General Secretary Ruhin Hossain Prince, Workers Party of Bangladesh, Jasad and other political parties paid their respects at the main altar of the National Memorial.

Returning from the National Memorial in Savar, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina paid homage to the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu in front of Bangabandhu Bhaban at Dhanmondi No. 32. Later, Sheikh Hasina as the party chief along with the leaders of the central committee of the Awami League paid homage to the portrait of Bangabandhu.

Discussion meetings and various programs were held at district and upazila level and also in Bangladesh missions located in different countries highlighting the significance of Independence and National Day.

Various social and cultural organizations hold various programs including photo exhibitions, film exhibitions, street decorations, discussion meetings in a festive atmosphere.

On the occasion of Independence Day, prayers and milad mahfils were organized in all mosques of the country including Baitul Mukarram National Mosque after Zohar as part of special prayer program in all religious institutions including mosques, temples, pagodas and churches.


Also at Tejgaon Church at 8 am, Christian community at Mirpur Baptist Church (3/6 at Senpara, Povarta, Mirpur-10) at 12:01 pm (March 25 daytime), Buddhist community at International Buddhist Monastery at Merul Badda in the capital at 10 am and The Hindu community held a prayer meeting at the Dhakeswari National Temple at 11am.
