Dhaka, October 17: Foreign Minister Dr. AK Abdul Momen said that Rohingyas have become victims of violence in their own country. Millions of Rohingyas have been deported as a result of violence alone. Therefore, Bangladesh has created a model for maintaining world peace, which has been presented to the United Nations.

Momen said this while speaking as the chief guest at the unveiling ceremony of the book 'Adammyo Bangladesh' held at the Institution of Engineers in the city on Friday (October 16).

Network for International Law Students Bangladesh Chapter organised the event.

"We have two resources in our country," he said, adding, "They are human resources and water resources. But we are not able to utilize these two types of resources due to lack of skills. If these two types of resources can be utilised then Bangladesh will be self-sufficient."

The author of the book 'Adammyo Bangladesh' and a member of the Bangladesh University Grants Commission Professor Dr. Sajjad Hossain said, "Bangabandhu is the wealth of the world. But unfortunately, we could not keep him. But, we have Sheikh Hasina. Bengalis are hardworking, talented. But, that talent must be used. We have to take the country forward through timely research."

Chittagong University Vice Chancellor Dr. Shirin Akhtar said, "Only a few years after independence, Bangabandhu got the opportunity to take the country forward in a planned manner. But the assassins did not allow him to carry out the plans. Then his daughter Sheikh Hasina is implementing the plans."

"Political assassinations often happen in third world countries," she said. "In these killings, children are often killed. Sheikh Russell was also brutalized in the 1975 assassination. It must be stopped."

Speaking on the occasion, ABM Abu Noman, Dean, Faculty of Law, University of Chittagong, said, "Bangladesh is moving forward now. The construction of the Padma Bridge with its own funds is a great example. If everyone works together, the country will become a developed country before 2041."
