Bangladesh: Man stabbed to death in Narayanganj
Dhaka, May 31: A man was stabbed to death in Bangladesh city Narayanganj’s Araihazar upazila on Friday, media reports said.
The victim was identified as Md Swapan, 30, local media report said.
Shafiqul Islam, an inspector at Araihazar Police Station, told The Daily Star Swapan and his friend Selim were in a conflict over ownership of a mobile phone.
Shamim, Habibullah and a few others were reportedly looking for Selim and found Swapan instead in Kahindi Bazar.
Shafiqul Islam told the newspaper that he was stabbed indiscriminately.
He was taken by the locals to Araihazar Upazila Health Complex where he later passed away.
A case has been registered in connection with the incident.
One person has been detained so far.
