Dhaka, 16 October 2022 : The number of people affected by dengue fever is increasing in the country. Death is also increasing.

Five people died of dengue fever in 24 hours from 8 am on Saturday to 8 am on Sunday. During this time, 855 people were identified as infected. With this, the number of dengue patients admitted to hospitals across the country has reached 2 thousand 847. Earlier, on October 13, the highest number of dengue cases in the country was 765.

On Sunday (October 16), Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room in charge Dr. Md. This information was given in the dengue report signed by Zahidul Islam.

It is said that 523 residents of Dhaka and 332 people outside Dhaka out of 855 people who were admitted to the hospital due to dengue infection in 24 hours from 8 am on Saturday to 8 am on Sunday. The report also said that the total number of dengue patients currently admitted in various public and private hospitals of the country, including 855 new ones, stands at 2,847.

According to the information of the Department of Health, from January 1 to October 16 this year, 25 thousand 181 people were admitted to the hospital due to dengue. Among them, 22 thousand 240 people have recovered and left the hospital.

Five more deaths due to dengue have been reported in the last 24 hours. With this, a total of 94 people have died from dengue since January 1. The first death due to dengue was reported on June 21 this year.

During the corona epidemic in 2020, dengue infection was not seen much, but in 2021, 28 thousand 429 people were infected with dengue fever across the country. In the same year, 105 people died of dengue nationwide.
