Bangladesh signs one agreement, three MoUs with Brunei

Own Correspondent, Dhaka, Oct 17: Bangladesh has signed an agreement and three memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with Brunei Darussalam to increase mutual cooperation including direct air connectivity, manpower export, liquefied gas, and petroleum supply.

These agreements and MoUs were signed in the presence of Sultan Hassanal Balkiah of Brunei and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina who were visiting Dhaka on Sunday (October 16) at the Prime Minister's Office.

The 'Air Service Agreement' was signed by the Minister of State for Civil Aviation and Tourism Md. Mahbub Ali on behalf of Bangladesh and the Minister of Prime Minister's Office and Minister of Finance and Economy Amin Abdullah on behalf of Brunei.

Brunei has signed a memorandum of understanding with Dhaka on 'Bangladeshi Manpower Recruitment'. The MoU was signed by Expatriate Welfare and Foreign Employment Minister Imran Ahmed on behalf of Bangladesh and Ahmadin bin Haji Abdul Rahman, the country's Interior Minister on behalf of Brunei.

The two countries signed a memorandum of understanding for the supply of 'Liquefied Natural Gas and Petroleum Products'. The MoU was signed by Brunei's Prime Minister's Office Minister and Finance and Economy Minister Amin Abdullah and Bangladesh's State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid.

Third MoU 'Recognition of Certificates Issued Under the Provisions of the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers, 1978 as Amended'. The MoU was signed by Bangladesh's State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury and Brunei's Prime Minister's Office Minister and Finance and Economy Minister Amin Abdullah.
