Dhaka, June 6, 2021: The Department of Drug Administration has approved the Emergency Use of Corona Ticker (EUA) made by China's Sinovac Life Sciences Limited.

Incepta Vaccine Limited is the distributor of this vaccine in the country.

Incepta on behalf of Synovac applied for approval of the ticker. In view of this, on June 3, the Department of Drug Administration gave its approval. A press release on Monday (June 6th) morning said the Sinovac vaccine was suitable for use by citizens over the age of 18. The second dose will be given 2 or 4 weeks after the first dose. The storage temperature of this vaccine is 2-6 degrees Celsius.

Earlier, the Oxford-AstraZenecar vaccine, Sputnik-V vaccine from Russia, the Sinofarm vaccine from China and the Pfizer vaccine produced by the Serum Institute for Corona Prevention were approved for emergency use (EUA).

China approved the use of the Sinovac vaccine on February 9 this year. It has since been approved in 22 more countries. On June 1, the World Health Organization approved the emergency use of the vaccine.

Abdul Moktadir Chowdhury, managing director of Incepta Pharmaceuticals, was asked about the application by the drug administration to the EUA on behalf of Synovac, saying, "Incepta produces various vaccines. As a result, we have had good relations with them for a long time. On behalf of this organization, we have only submitted an application to the Department of Drug Administration for payment in the EU.

He added: "We will not be producing the Sinovac vaccine ourselves at this time or engaging in commercial sales. After receiving the EU, Sinovac will now buy the vaccine under a direct agreement with the government.
