Bangladesh to administer three crore doses against the coronavirus every month: Health Minister

Dhaka, Ocotber 20: Bangladesh will administer three crore vaccine doses against the coronavirus every month from November. Health Minister Zahid Maleque said this at a discussion meeting on the occasion of Sheikh Russell's 58th birthday at Sheikh Russell National Gastroliver Institute and Hospital in Mohakhali on Tuesday (October 19).

The country currently has 21 crore vaccine doses in stock.

He said, "Three crore vaccines will be given this month as well. Bengalis living in other countries of the world will also get the vaccine. The Prime Minister has told us that there will be no shortage of money and there will be no shortage of vaccines."

Spreaking about vaccination in school level, the minister said, "School children will also be vaccinated. We asked students for information from the Department of ICT and Education. As soon as we get these, we will start vaccination activities for the students."

Stating that Bangladesh has succeeded in preventing coronavirus, the Health Minister said, “Bangladesh has succeeded in fighting coronavirus in South Asia. It's not magic. Bangladesh has shown success to many countries of the world. This success has been achieved due to the hard work of all those involved in the health sector. We are on the path to success in the fight against coronavirus."

Expressing anger over the attack on the Hindu Durga Puja marquees, the minister said, "Attacks on temples and houses are not the main target, their main target is the fall of the government. The conspirators have also started arson in the country. They want to disrupt the development of the country, they want to destroy peace. But we will not allow the conspirators to succeed. Our struggle is on, our fight is against the conspirators."

“We will fight against all diseases, poverty, terrorism. The fight for peace is going on and will continue. We have been able to tame the coronavirus and is on track to win the war against the disease. We am the first among 150 countries and first in South Asia to win the fight against coronavirus. It has been made possible by the sacrifices of many," he said.

Claiming to be a fighter of the present generation, Zahid Maleque said, "I could not take part in the war in 1971, but I am fighting to build a golden Bengal under the leadership of the Prime Minister. I am fighting under the leadership of the Prime Minister for the development of the health sector and alleviation of poverty in the country. We want no poverty in the country, and life to be beautiful. We could not fight in 1971, but we are working to build a golden Bengal."
