Bangladesh welcomes Bengali New Year with pomp

Dhaka, April 14: Bengali New Year was celebrated all over the country through various programs. Panta-ilish was not organized in the morning as it was Ramadan. And so that the law and order does not deteriorate, all the formalities of the new year have to be completed by 12 noon.

However, until this report was written at two o'clock in the afternoon, many people were seen wandering around different places including Dhaka University.

Two years later, on the occasion of the Bengali New Year, the Mars procession turned into a gathering of thousands of people. Forgetting the epidemic, the Mars procession started from the front of the Dhaka University (DU) Teachers' Student Center (TSC) at 9 am on Thursday (April 14) with the message of good times.

Earlier, the New Year celebrations started at 6:15 am at Ramna Batamul. After that, the artists of Chayanat started organizing this time with the song 'Mon, Jag Mangalloke' by Rabindra Sangeet. Eighty-five artists from Chayanat took part in this year's New Year celebrations. At this time people entered the stage one by one. The audience came in front of the base.

There was not much traffic jam on the roads of the capital today as it was a public holiday. However, there was more traffic to TSC. On the occasion of Bengali New Year celebrations, Baishakhi rallies were organized in all districts, upazilas and unions of the country. Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy organized a two-day program.

Bangla Academy and Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSIC) organized New Year fairs and cultural programs on the premises of Bangla Academy and Bangladesh Folk and Crafts Foundation. All public and private TVs, Bangladesh Betar, FM and Community Radio are arranging to broadcast Bangla New Year programs and are organizing special programs on Bengali New Year.

Bangladesh Television, Bangladesh Betar and private channels have broadcast live the cultural program organized by Chhayanat at Ramna Batmool. Those who could not go out of the house for various reasons are spending time watching TV programs.
