Dhaka, August 29: The Bangladeshi flag bearer 'MT Bengal's pioneer' ship, which was detained at the German port of Bremen for paperwork errors, has been released. It was released on Friday night (Bangladesh time).

Commodore Sumon Mahmud, Managing Director of Bangladesh Shipping Corporation (BSC) confirmed the matter. He said there were no defects in the construction of the ship. Some papers were not updated. So there was a little problem. It was later resolved. The ship left the port of Bremen on Friday night, Bangladesh time.

Earlier, on August 23, the ship was detained at the port of Bremen by the German Port State Control (PSC).

According to BSc sources, the oil tanker MT Bengal's pioneer was built by China in 2018. The ship was registered in Bangladesh in 2019. It is capable of transporting about 39,000 metric tons of oil. The ship is operated under the state-owned BSc. It is currently leased to a company in Singapore.

Meanwhile, after the seizure of the ship, the Mercantile Marine Office, the ship registration authority of Bangladesh, expressed concern and asked the foreign ships to abide by the rules.
