Bangladesh Bank official dies after he is hit by stone, probe on
Dhaka, 13 January 2024: A brick fell on his head and died while crossing the road.
Bangladesh Bank official Dipanvita Biswas was killed when a brick fell on her head in Mouchak Market area of the capital.
Police have not yet arrested anyone in this incident. Besides, the police could not find where the brick came from.
According to the sources of Ramna police station, the footage of all the city cameras at the scene and its surrounding area is being analysed.
Through this, we are trying to find out where the brick came from and fell on Dipanvita Biswas' head. However, no significant information has been found in the analysis of the footage.
In this regard, on Friday night Ramana Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Utpal Barua said, "We have not yet received any information about where the concrete block came from at the scene. But searching. He said, I have collected footage from all the CCTV cameras around the incident site. However, the CCTV footage did not reveal where the block came from.
We hope the investigation will be completed soon. And so far no one has been detained or arrested in this incident.
Earlier on Wednesday night, this incident happened next to Fakhruddin Restaurant in Mouchak Market area. The next day, on Thursday afternoon, Tarun Kumar Biswas, the victim's husband, filed a murder case at Ramna police station.
Police say that Dipanbita Biswas died on the spot when a concrete block fell from above when Maucha was passing under Fakhruddin Hotel. She has a three-year-old child. He was working in Sadarghat office of Bangladesh Bank.
