Dhaka, October 14: All the seaports in the country have been asked to lower the danger signal after the potential danger in the Bay of Bengal waned.

The meteorological office said the deep depression in the West-Central Bay of Bengal and adjoining East-Central Bay of Bengal extended further west-northwest and crossed the North Andhra coast of India by 9 am on Tuesday.

It may move further west or northwest and weaken.

The meteorological office has asked all fishing boats and trawlers stationed in the North Bay and the deep sea to proceed cautiously from near the coast till this (October 14) morning.

Earlier, in a long-term forecast for October, the Meteorological Department had forecast one to two light pressures in the Bay of Bengal this month, one of which could turn into a cyclone.

The low pressure in the West-Central Bay of Bengal and adjoining East-Central Bay of Bengal was 855 km southwest of Mongla seaport and 840 km southwest of Payra seaport at 6 am on Sunday (October 11).

At 8 am on Monday, the depression is located 941 km southwest of Mongla seaport and 951 km southwest of Payra seaport.

In other words, in the last 24 hours, the depression has moved 111 km from Payra and 86 km southwest of Mongla.
