Dhaka, October 23: Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has said that Myanmar will repatriate Rohingyas who fled Rakhine and took refuge in Bangladesh in the face of military repression. He said this in a telephone conversation with Foreign Minister of Bangladesh Dr. AK Abdul Momen on Thursday (October 22) evening.

Wang Yi said Myanmar had recently reassured China that the displaced Rohingya people would be repatriated to Myanmar.

This was stated in a press release issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Friday (October 23).

It was also said that the Chinese coronavirus vaccine will be given to Bangladesh on a priority basis, the Chinese Foreign Minister told the Bangladesh Foreign Minister.

Highly praising Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's leadership in tackling the Corona epidemic, the Chinese Foreign Minister said Chinese projects that have been stalled or slowed down due to the Corona epidemic will be completed soon if the situation improves.

Dr. Momen requested Wang to renew the visas of Bangladeshi students and researchers from various Chinese universities and institutions who have been stranded in the country due to Corona.

In this regard, the Chinese Foreign Minister said that the Chinese government has not yet decided on the entry of foreign students into China.

However, if a decision is taken in this regard, Bangladeshis will be put on the priority list.

In that case visa and other issues will be resolved quickly.

Meanwhile, Momen thanked the government for the initiative to translate the book 'Amar Dekha Nayachin' into Chinese, written by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
