BGB will be world-class smart border force by 2041: PM

She said these things in the speech of the chief guest at the formal parade of Border Guard Bangladesh Day-2023 on Monday. At 9:30 am, she visited the official parade and saluted at the Biruttam Anwar Hossain parade ground of the BGB headquarters.

Seventy-two BGB members were given medals in recognition of their heroic and meritorious work on this BGB day. Addressing the BGB members, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said, "BGB has developed as an efficient and powerful modern three-dimensional force. BGB is now capable of carrying out its duties in water, land and air. We have also purchased two helicopters."

She said, "The responsibility of protecting the border of our independent sovereign Bangladesh is on the BGB. Besides protecting the border, BGB is doing various tasks, including stopping smuggling, drug, women and child trafficking, with great responsibility. The vigilant guard of the border is always vigilant to protect the country."

The Prime Minister also said that various incidents have taken place starting from fire and terrorism in any internal problem of the country. BGB members stand by the common people. Always plays a role in protecting lives. BGB has earned the trust of the nation.

Mentioning that the border posts (posts) of BGB have also been increased, she said, BGB has been divided into five regions under the leadership of five additional directors. The creation of new units, sector regions in the organizational structure of the BGB has resulted in balance at the command level. Due to reduction in the area of responsibility of each unit, Shusthu Sundarbar is able to play a special role in border security, suppression of border crimes and protection of lives and property of people along the border. We were the first to allow women to join the BGB. I have changed the clothes of BGB.
