BNP BNP calls for 3-day total blockade across country
Dhaka, Oct 30: The BNP has announced a three-day all-out blockade programme across the country, including Dhaka, to protest the alleged attack on the October 28 mass rally, the arrest of activists, house searches and harassment, and a one-point demand for the downfall of the government. BNP-minded opposition parties and allies will also hold this programme.
BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said in a virtual press conference on Sunday (October 29) that this programme will be held across the country on Tuesday (Oct 31), Wednesday (Nov 1) and Thursday (Nov 2).
He said that due to ongoing lawlessness, mismanagement, unlimited corruption, lawlessness, money laundering and syndicated business, people's lives are disrupted due to the continuous increase in commodity prices. In the public interest, the attack on October 28 mass meeting, the killing of leaders and activists, the arrest of thousands of leaders and activists of various protesting parties, including party secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, house-to-house searches, harassment and torture, and to demand one round of demands, will be held from October 31 to November 2. .
BNP had a general meeting program in Dhaka on Saturday. But at one stage of the clash of party leaders and workers, the grand meeting broke down. A policeman, a youth worker and a journalist were killed in the clash. At least thousands were injured, including police, journalists and BNP activists.
