Dhaka, March 29: Since the election of the 11th National Parliament in 2018, the distance between BNP and its long-time ally Jamaat has increased. After that, the top leaders of these two parties engaged in a war of words at various times. At one point, the 20-party alliance broke down. Since then, the leaders of the two parties have not been seen officially close. The platforms of BNP and Jamaat were also different in the anti-government movement around the last 12th parliamentary elections. The leaders and activists of the two parties are simultaneously protesting from separate positions. Finally, after five long years, the top leaders of BNP-Jamaat met on the same stage.

BNP organized an iftar party in honor of political leaders at ladies club in the capital on Thursday. Jamaat leaders were caught on camera there. Before this, the last time the leaders of these two parties sat face to face, we have to go back five years ago. BNP and Jamaat leaders were seen together in the last 20-party alliance meeting on January 8, 2018. After a long break and in the midst of the rumors of alliance break, many consider them to be a new message or indication in the politics of sitting side by side again. However, no response was received from either party.

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said in the president's speech at the Iftar party that we are passing through a difficult time. Going through a tough time. At this time, everyone should be united.

He said, "Efforts are being made to impose one-party rule in the country by failing all our hopes. In view of this situation, we have started agitation-struggle."
