Own Correspondent, Dhaka, 31 July 2023: Regarding BNP's sit-in program, Awami League General Secretary and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said, why did they hold a blockade program the day after the rally? What kind of democracy is it? It is to obstruct the election. They are trying to disrupt the elections

He further said, "Visa policy should be applied to them. Their aim is to dump a body. Tarique Rahman has given that order from London."

He said these things in a press conference at the meeting room of the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges on Monday (July 31).

The bridge minister said, "We will not go into tension. We want elections. They want to oust the government by any means. We will have our program until the elections, but the style will change. There is no parting until the elections. We are in the field."

The image of politics is now going towards violence, the responsibility of the opposition party or the government? In response to such a question, Kader said, "The responsibility falls on particular individuals and groups for particular reasons. There is a lot to be said when analyzing this explanation."

I will say one thing to the European Union and the Americans - "We held a rally at the south gate of Baitul Mukarram, they did it in Nayapaltan. The very next day they held a sit-in program at the entrance of Dhaka. What kind of program is this? We have never given such a program."

He said, "BNP will close the main highways of the country, Dhaka-Chittagong communication will be stopped, North Bengal communication will be stopped from Dhaka, this cannot happen. What kind of politics is it? The visa policy should be enforced on that. It is clearly an electoral obstruction."

He said, "The attack on the police will be stopped by the police. When they blocked the Dhaka-Chittagong road, will the police remain silent? It is the responsibility of the police to protect people's lives and keep traffic normal."

When asked about the position of the government in the midst of political unrest, he said that the government is on the way of the government. The objective of the government is to maintain peaceful conditions.
