BNP Mass Rally BNP's mass rally announced 'completed' before it ends
Dhaka, December 31: BNP held a mass rally in Dhaka with 10-point demands, including the resignation of the government, a neutral government during the election period and the release of prisoners. The first programme of the simultaneous movement started in front of the Naya Paltan BNP central office and ended at the Moghbazar intersection. Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, a member of the party's standing committee, was supposed to announce the completion of the rally.
But when the first part of the procession reached Moghbazar, Dhaka Metropolitan North BNP convener Amanullah Aman hastily announced the end. About 1 hour after his announcement, the last part of the procession passed the Naya Paltan BNP central office.
At around 5 pm, Manjurul Islam Manju, Publicity and Publication Secretary of Sramik Dal told Dhaka Post that the leaders and activists of Sramik Dal's Dhaka Metropolitan South were in the last part of the mass rally. In the first part of the procession, when the women's party leaders turned around Moghbazar and again came in front of the Naya Paltan BNP central office, the last head of the procession, ie the southern leaders of the Sramik Dal, passed the Naya Paltan office.
Meanwhile, there has been anger among the activists of BNP that Amanullah Aman announced the end of the procession before the end.
A few leaders of the party, on condition of anonymity, said that if Amanullah was in a hurry to return home, he could have left, there was no problem. But before the end of the procession why he would announce the end? What kind of politics is it?
BNP Standing Committee member Dr. Khandkar Mosharraf Hossain officially announced the start of the rally at 3:30 pm on the temporary stage in front of Naya Paltan central office. At this time, he said, Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, a member of the party's standing committee, will announce the end of the procession at Moghbazar intersection.
After Musharraf's announcement, at 3:40 pm, the women's party leaders, who were at the head of the mass rally, marched towards Moghbazar. When they reached Moghbazar at 4:10 pm, Amanullah Aman announced the end of the programme.
At this time, Aman said, our rally is over today. I announce the end of the procession. May you all return home peacefully. Don't make any kind of trouble. Amanullah also said that those who are behind the procession will also come to Moghbazar and end the procession.
