Dhaka, January 28: Information Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud has said that the BNP has been infected with the 'no' disease.

The lawmaker said that while people are happy with the development of the country, the BNP is dissatisfied.

Addressing an exchange meeting with district and metropolitan Awami League leaders at Sylhet Circuit House on Friday (January 27) morning. he said, while the country is moving forward under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the BNP is spreading propaganda against the country all over the world. The minister added that the BNP has appointed lobbyists for the country's export-development and to tarnish the country's image.

Dr. Hasan Mahmud said that BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has sent his own signed letter to various departments in the United States. In those letters, he made it clear that no help should be given to Bangladesh. At this time he asked the question, how can a party secretary general do all these things? They are actually conspirators. They are anti-national.

Regarding the Awami League in the meeting, the Minister said that where the Awami League has won the ongoing UP elections, the rebel candidate of the party has come in the second position. And where the rebel candidate has won, the party candidate has come second. It appears that the Awami League is the alternative to the Awami League. The people of the country have always trusted the Awami League.

Also present at the meeting were Acting President of Sylhet District Awami League, former MP Shafiqur Rahman Chowdhury, President of Sylhet Metropolitan Awami League Bir Muktijoddha Masuk Uddin Ahmed, General Secretary Professor Zakir Hossain and District Awami League General Secretary Nasir Uddin Khan.
