Dhaka, Dec 9: On the occasion of International Human Rights Day tomorrow (Sunday, December 10), BNP will hold human chains with the family members of missing and murdered persons in Dhaka and all the district headquarters across the country. BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi announced the programme in a virtual press conference on Friday afternoon.

Rizvi said, "Our next programme is on the occasion of International Human Rights Day on December 10. On that day, the families of the victims of disappearance and murder will be held together. This programme will be organized in Dhaka city and district headquarters."

He said that there will be a human chain in Dhaka in front of the National Press Club at 11 am. Dhaka Metropolitan BNP has taken all preparations in this regard and preparations have been made to succeed in human bonding in other districts outside Dhaka.

Rizvi said that if there is any obstacle from the side of the government, this human chain program should be successful as a symbol of protest against injustice. I will tell the leaders and activists of all levels of the country, including Dhaka, that you bring all the family members whose family members have been tortured, disappeared and murdered, and present them in a human chain. Claiming that the police have arrested more than 215 leaders and activists in the last 24 hours, he said that more than 850 leaders and activists have been accused in seven cases.

It is to be noted that since the BNP's mass meeting in Dhaka was stopped by the police on October 28, the party has been carrying out programs like strike-blockade. The party has held a 20-day blockade and three-phase four-day strike programme demanding the resignation of the government, elections under a non-partisan government and cancellation of the schedule.
