Ashuganj Fertilizer Factory Brahmanbaria's Ashuganj fertilizer factory returns to production
Dhaka, Dec 16: Brahmanbaria's Ashuganj Fertilizer Factory has resumed production after being closed for almost nine and a half months due to overhauling and gas shortage.
The managing director of the factory, Sunil Chandra Das, said that the production of urea fertilizer started in the factory at around 8:30 pm on Friday (December 15).
He said, after overcoming all the complications, production of fertilizer has started. It is also being seen whether any parts have new defects due to being shut down for a long time.
The production of the factory had been stopped since March 1 for annual overhauling. After completing this work, the factory was supposed to return to production from May 20. However, due to lack of gas supply as per demand, production could not be started even after overhauling.
Factory officials said production of at least 1,100 tonnes of fertilizer per day was disrupted during the shutdown.
