Sheikh Hasina BSMMU syndicate lauds Sheikh Hasina as UN promotes Bangladesh to a developing nation
Dhaka, March 1: Leaders of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Syndicate have congratulated and thanked Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for receiving the final recommendation of the United Nations to tackle the corona epidemic and rise to the list of developing countries. The congratulations were given at the 71st Syndicate Meeting of Shaheed Dr Milton Hall of the University on Sunday (February 26).
University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Konak Kanti Barua said, “Bangladesh ranks first in South Asia and 20th in the world in the 'Covid-19 Tolerant Rankings' index compiled by the US news agency Bloomberg for successful coping of Covid-19, revival of the economy and livelihood. For this, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and all the frontline fighters involved in the fight against Kovid 19, including Health Minister Zahid Maleque."
He further said, “Vacation Center, Fever Clinic, Telemedicine Service, Outdoor Service, PCR Lab Service, Establishment of Separate Covid-19 Hospital i.e. Corona Center Launched, Covid-19 Follow-up Clinic for the first time in Bangladesh and under the initiative of the present administration of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University. Through multidisciplinary research, BSMMU is playing a key role in medical education, services and research in Bangladesh during this disaster. "
